Born and raised in Berlin, Claudia since her childhood loved to paint and design. Since she wanted to pursue a career that would allow her to explore this side of her creativity, she studied Fine and Applied Arts to become a painter for theatre and cinema. Upon completion of her studies and to explore different places and see beautiful things, she took a year off to travel the world. It was during her journey that she soon realized her passion for american pop art. Afterwords she dedicated a work cycle as a tribute to Lichtenstein. In 1997 she moved to Italy where she lived and worked for 10 years. About this time she says: ‘Italy is for me the most beautiful country in the world and its landscape and people have been the main inspiration source for my work. Claudia has made several exhibitions in Italy and France and her paintings are in private collections accross Europe. Today she is based in Paris and Berlin and her recent work is inspired by the Italian comic artists of the seventies, such as Diabolik from the Giussani Sisters, Guido Crepax or Milo Manara. |
